This woman's 'crazy-smooth' skin is freaking out the internet
While some people go viral for their bad experiences, funny anecdotes or powerful speeches, a young black woman is making waves across the internet thanks to her natural smooth and glowy skin. After other people’s insistence, she finally shared her secrets.
It all started when Michele Manteaw posted two pics of her “Glowy Winter Makeup on Dark Skin” on Reddit’s MakeUp Addiction section. The “no-makeup” make up caught the attention of fellow users, who filled the comment section praising not only Manteaw’s makeup skills but also her smooth skin.
The post has received over 16k positive votes and 300+ replies. “Can you drop the skincare routine too? You look super pretty and glowy,” said one user, and another added, “OP has the softest looking skin ever.”
After the insistence, Michele took back to the post to thank people for the overwhelming reaction and share her skincare routine as well, noting that she uses quite a few products in the morning and the evening, and adds or removes products depending on what her skin needs at the time.
SHARING HER SECRETS
Manteaw expanded on her routine in an interview with Cosmopolitan, who contacted the girl after brands like Lush shared her pics boasting about their products helped her achieve her smooth-looking skin.
And for anyone’s surprise, Michele revealed that, like most women, she also suffered from acne in her teenage years.
“As a black woman, my pubescent acne left me with terrible hyperpigmentation that followed me into my adult years,” she said. The girl also revealed that that the two products that helped her with acne marks and texture were vitamin C and African black soap:
“African Black Soap from my motherland—Ghana!—is also amazing for fading scars and cleansing skin; just make sure to top it with a good moisturizer afterward."
CUTTING DAIRY AND ITS GOOD RESULTS
On her Reddit post, she also mentioned cleaning her skin with a foreo, drinking lots of water and cutting dairy from her diet were vital in achieving her glowy skin. “Cutting as much dairy out of my diet REALLY helped with the overall texture and frequency of breakouts. life. Changing,” she said.
Many people seconded her tip about dairy, one user wrote:
“I’m in my late 20’s, and it took until now to realize the hormones in dairy hit you hard at any age. The texture on my skin has improved soooo much since getting rid of dairy and drinking more water.”
Michele also has a YouTube channel where she shares her makeup tutorial and more, and now that she has become an internet sensation, she’ll probably keep sharing her secrets for smooth skin with her newly acquired followers.
