A few weeks after settling her sexual harassment suit with former manager Stella Bulochnikov, Mariah Carey is now back to court after filing a lawsuit against her former assistant, Lianna Shakhnazarian. The singer is accusing the woman of blackmailing her with “intimate videos.”

According to court documents, Shakhnazarian, also known as Lianna Azarian, was hired as Carey’s executive assistant from March 2015 to November 2017.

The singer is now suing the woman for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, extortion, and invasion of privacy. Carey is also asking for over $3 million in compensation for unspecified damages.

VIDEOS THAT COULD RUIN MARIAH’S REPUTATION

Mariah claims that Azarian filmed her secretly and without permission engaging in personal activities. She says if the videos would come out to the light, both her personal and professional lives would be damaged.

While is not clear what the videos contain, some are labeled as “intimate” in the documents.

Carey also explained that Azarian showed the videos to some of her friends, and threatened Mariah with selling them if she was fired.

The lawsuit also states that Azarian used business credit cards to buy personal stuff, and even told retailers she was buying for Mariah to obtain discounts and other deals.

THE BLACKMAIL

Azarian initially received a salary of $250,000 per year, but it was raised to $327,000 before her dismissal. Carey finally fired the woman in November 2017, and that’s when the blackmail started, with Azarian demanding up to $8 million to keep the videos out of the media.

A rep for the singer told People:

“According to a complaint filed today in California, an executive assistant employed in 2015 to help with business and personal matters, turned out to be a grifter and extortionist.“Because her threats and bad acts are too great to be ignored. “Mariah has been compelled to file a lawsuit against her.”

The rep also stated that the singer has enough proof against the former assistant and her legal team is looking forward to an indisputable victory in court.

AZARIAN’S FIRES BACK

However, just a few hours after the news of the lawsuit was revealed, Azarian hit back with a suit too. The woman is accusing Mariah and her former manager of abuse.

Lianna claims that Stella Bulochnikov abused her on several occasions: “slapping her butt and breasts, urinating on her, tackling her to the ground and sitting on her.”

She also claims Mariah was present when the abuse took place and did nothing to stop it. The woman also accused Mariah of committing physical, emotional and psychological violence against her through the years she worked for her.
