Furthermore, they believe there were other sexual predators besides Gibson involved in the abuse as well. The list of suspected offenders includes other male leaders in the church who have allegedly preyed on the young female parishioners for years and reportedly went as far as impregnating some of them.

The story had unfolded after a relative of the girl exposed the scandal. She revealed she only became privy of what was going on recently.

She noticed the alleged victim acting out of character and began questioning what was happening. According to police, the abuse allegedly began just after the victim’s mother died.

“She just blurted it out to us. We want to speak to the district attorney’s office because you failed us as well. We just found out he got a $10,000 bail, which is unheard of for a case like this. We’re really disappointed with the district attorney for setting his bail so low. It’s a shame.” said the shocked and angry relative.

Gibson has a history with the law. Apparently, he had been arrested for criminal trespassing, jumping the subway turnstile, and grand larceny in the past.

The community then demonstrated outside of the Progressive Baptist Church on Howard Avenue to demand that the church is shut down after Gibson's arrest. The church is currently closed as it is regarded as a crime scene.
