Lionel Richie's son reportedly cautioned after he makes a bomb threat and hits security at airport
Lionel Richie’s son, Miles, was reportedly let off with a caution after making a bomb threat and punching a security guard at London’s Heathrow Airport on Saturday.
Miles Brockman Richie, a 24-year-old model, was at the Heathrow Airport Terminal five on Saturday where, according to witnesses, he became furious after he wasn’t allowed onto a flight.
TMZ reports that “he claimed to have a bomb in his bag, which he’d detonate if he wasn’t let on to the plane.”
Miles went further to punch a security guard standing by and was promptly detained by the police. He has since been released and got off with a caution from the incident.
According to Daily Mail, “Scotland Yard officers said a man had accepted a caution for communicating false information causing a bomb hoax and battery but did not confirm it was Richie.”
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police also stated:
“On Saturday, 19 January, a 24-year-old man accepted a caution for communicating false information causing a bomb hoax and battery following an incident at Heathrow Terminal 5 earlier that morning.”
The police added that its statement does not confirm the name of the person under investigation.
Miles had been in the UK for London Fashion Week Men’s which took place from the 5th to 7th of this month, confirms METRO.
Miles is the only son of Lionel, who the “All night Long” singer shares with ex-wife, Diane Alexander. Their second child, daughter Sofia Richie, is 20 and also works as a model.
Although his younger sister (who is currently dating the 35-year-old ex and baby daddy of Kourtney Kardashian) has been more in the public glare, Miles is making a name for himself with modeling and made his runway debut last February.
He was one of the male models walking the runway at Philipp Plein's bacchanal-cum-fashion show during the 2018 edition of New York Fashion Week.
Miles, who is signed to the men’s division of Wilhelmina Models, is yet to comment on this latest airport incident.
