Grandmother loses 120 pounds and looks unrecognizable by walking in a 1-bedroom apartment
While there are many stories online of people making incredible weight loss transformations, they are all usually young people. However, one 86 year old woman decided to transform her body using a simple exercise.
Jessica Slaughter, an 86 year old woman from St Louis, has battled obesity since she was a young schoolgirl.
Her doctor diagnosed her as a pre-diabetic. This was a wake-up call for Jessica who then started to exercise every day from the comfort of her own home.

After her granddaughter advised her to get a Fitbit, she started wearing one every day to count her steps. Just from walking in her small apartment she ended up completing 3000 steps a day.
The steps all added up and she lost an unbelievable 120 pounds. Besides the exercise, she also credits her vegan diet for her weight loss.

Jessica wants to inspire other seniors to follow healthy lifestyles:
“I just want seniors to know just because we've gotten a certain age; we don't have to stop living. I want to tell them that there’s a better way of life if they choose."
WALKING TO WEIGHT LOSS
It has been determined that one does not need to do endless hours of grueling cardio workouts to stay fit and healthy, but simply walking 15 minutes a day could be the answer.

However, consistency is the key to any successful workout regimen. Therefore, if one is going to adopt a regimen of walking for 15 minutes, then one must do it every single day for it to work.
There are preventative effects of regular walking, especially regarding diabetes, high blood pressure, and cancer. It also improves mobility and reduces pain.
