Jayme Closs to get $25,000 reward for rescuing herself from kidnapper 88 days after going missing

Jayme Closs rescued her own self and now she is set to get a $25,000 reward for it.

Jayme, 13, was kidnapped from her home in October 2018. Her parents Denise and James Closs were killed so her abductor could get to her.

Jayme then spent 88 days in a remote house in Gordon, Wisconsin until she managed to escape. A woman recognized her as she walked down the street and called the cops soon after.

According to MyFox, a company named Hormel Foods, the parent of Jennie-O-Turkey Store, is now prepared to give Jayme $25,000 which they had raised while she was captive.

Jennie-O and the FBI contributed a total of $50,000 to go to efforts toward finding Jayme. When she was found, Jim Snee, president, and chief executive officer of Hormel, said the team was "overjoyed."

He said:

"Her bravery and strength have truly inspired our team members around the world.”

Jennie-O used to employ Denise and James in their Barron, Wisconsin branch. Steve Lykken, president of the Jennie-O Turkey store, also spoke on the matter.

He said:

“While we are still mourning the loss of longtime family members Jim and Denise, we are so thankful for Jayme’s brave escape and that she is back in Barron."

The company reached out to police to clarify the steps they would have to take to get the money to Jayme.

Lykke continued:

“Our hope is that a trust fund can be used for Jayme’s needs today and in the future.”

Jayme not only rescued herself, but she also helped police catch a suspect soon after her escape. Police arrested Jake Patterson the same afternoon.

He allegedly confessed to taking Jayme. So far, no past connection was found between the Closs family and Patterson.

Patterson had no job after he took Jayme. He would keep her under a bed that he caved in with heavyweights.

Jayme is now in the hands of her aunty and appears to be doing well. Her relatives were ecstatic to find out she had escaped and could be with them on January 10.

But before that, investigators discovered, Jayme stayed in a nightmarish abode. Despite having visitors over, Jayme was told that if she made a sound, something bad would happen.

Ultimately, one good thing happened when Jayme left the home while Patterson was out one day. We wish her the best as she attempts to move past this horrific experience.
