Barbra Streisand shared a sweet photo of her granddaughter, showing her face
Barbra Streisand, the proud grandmother of her first grandchild, shared a sweet pic of baby Westlyn, and she couldn’t be more smitten.
Shortly after the birth of Westlyn Reign Brolin on November 5, 2018, Barbra took to Instagram and shared the happy news.
Fans got their first glimpse of Josh Brolin and his wife, Kathryn Boyd’ bundle of joy with the adorable video Barbra took of the newborn sleeping and captioned it with:
“We’re so happy to welcome Westlyn into the world!”
The 76-year-old singer married Josh’s father, James Brolin, 78, in 1998 and got very excited when Josh and Kathryn shared that Barbra and James are going to be grandparents.
During an interview, Josh stated that Barbra got more excited than anyone else in the family when she heard the great news as he said:
“I’d say especially her. My wife got her a bracelet that said grandma on it, and she started crying.”
According to Josh, Barbra got very involved from the start and constantly sent him emails suggestions for names, as he added:
“She’s one of those. It’s annoying, but it’s in a really great way. But she’s really into it, and I love that she’s into it. It’s like a very typical Jewish grandmother who’s like, saturated by this event. It’s awesome.”
And now, with baby Westlyn almost three months old, Barbra shared a new photo of her with little Westlyn in her arms. Barbra smiled proudly as she hugged the little one and captioned the image:
“We were at a restaurant, but the most delicious thing was my granddaughter Westlyn!”
During Christmas last year, Barbra felt nostalgic and shared a throwback picture of her with her 51-year-old son, Jason Emmanuel in Las Vegas on Christmas morning in 1971.
The two smiled broadly in front of a Christmas tree surrounded with presents in the happy but grainy shot taken 48 years ago.
Perhaps the birth of her first grandchild made her think back to the time her son still ran around in diapers. Even though Jason is all grown up, he will always be the son she cuddled with when he was little.
Barbra had been entertaining and moving fans with her acting and singing since 1965, with timeless classics which fans still love to this day. One such a performance turned out to be a collaboration between herself and Josh Groban on September 17, 2014.
The new grandmother uploaded the music video of their rendition of one of her hit songs, ‘Somewhere’ to YouTube, and it was an instant hit. Five years later the view counter steadily climbs as their duet seems as popular as ever.
