Young model 'comes out' as Trump supporter after keeping it a secret for years out of fear
A 23-year-old model opened up about her political inclinations and revealed that she hid about her support for President Donald Trump out of fear.
Elizabeth Pipko is a young model, who has even appeared in Maxim. But a few years back in 2016, she worked full-time as Trump’s supporter on his presidential campaign.
She hid the fact about her support for the current US President because she felt it would ruin her modeling career.
She went to great lengths to hide her political affiliation toward Trump because she felt that the ‘liberal-leaning fashion world’ would turn against her.
Pipko explained that she was influenced by the way Trump spoke and the honesty with which he delivered his speeches.
“My manager kept saying how evil the people who work for him must be and that he would never work with anyone who supported him.”
The model used to work in a call center in Trump Tower before being hired as a national volunteer services coordinator for the data team.
She recalled one of the incidents that made her think that she couldn’t have a successful modeling career if she opened up about her support for Trump.
While Pipko was working on Trump’s presidential campaign, she went to meet her manager one day. There she found that her manager and a colleague were angry about something and they were talking about how much they hated Trump.
“My manager kept saying how evil the people who work for him must be and that he would never work with anyone who supported him,” Pipko told the New York Post.
As a result, she kept lying to people about her job and told them that she coached ice skating. One day, she bumped into a modeling friend at the Trump Tower but she lied that she was there just running errands.
During another incident, a photographer once walked into a photoshoot session wearing a T-shirt with a ‘red slash over Trump’s face.’ The situation unnerved Pipko and she could hardly concentrate on her work.
Now, more than two years after the election, Pipko feels that she can no longer stay silent. She explained that she is proud of her work for Trump and happy about the kind of people she met.
She even met her now-husband, Darren Centinello, who worked on digital and social media for Trump, during her time at Trump Tower.
When the couple wedded a few months ago, they made sure that everyone would know about their affiliation to Trump by using a red hat that read “Make Marriage Great Again” as their invitation.
Previously, a female African American model, named Zoe Bethel, was fired by her agency after she admitted that she was a Trump supporter.
She was removed from her job after she posted a few photographs from an event, which saw her posing with a few people wearing “Make America Great Again,” hats.
