The Next Royal Wedding Is on the Way and People Start Comparing It to Meghan and Eugenie's
The next royal wedding is happening soon, and it won't be what most would expect from a royal wedding.
Buckingham Palace made the announcement that Lady Gabriella Windsor is set to marry Thomas Kingston back in September 2018, and the nuptials are only two short months away.
Thomas proposed to Lady Gabriella when they visited a small island called the Isle of Sark, off the coast of Normandy last August and is set to tie the knot on Saturday, 18 May.
The daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent chose St. George’s Chapel to wed her husband to be, Thomas Kingston. He started his career in the Diplomatic Missions Unit of the Uk Foreign Office but now “works in frontier market investment and is a Director of Devonport Capital.”
As the first cousin once removed from the Queen, she is 47th in line for the throne, but not a working royal. Ella, as Lady Gabriella is known, is a writer and currently works as a “Senior Director at Branding Latin America, a brand-positioning platform that specializes in the region,” according to the Palace.
If the date of May 18 sounds familiar, it would. That was Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding date last year.
It is also the date for the FA Cup final which presents Prince William with a predicament for the second year in a row. As President of FA, it is Prince William’s duty to present the winning team with the cup.
Last year was his brother’s wedding, but this year Ella’s wedding presents Prince William with a dilemma in not knowing if he would be able to attend.
The similarity in venue and date is where Ella’s wedding resemblance to that of a public royal wedding begins and ends.
Since Ella is closely related to the Queen, many royals are expected to attend, but there will be no carriage procession, and the public would not be invited onto castle grounds.
The wedding will be “for family and friends, and very different” from those of Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie, according to a royal source. Because Frogmore has special meaning to Ella, the couple will host their reception at Frogmore House.
She spent many Christmases at Windsor while her grandparents are buried at Frogmore which is the same reason why she chose to get married at St. George’s Chapel. Curiously enough Gabriella also celebrates her birthday on St George’s Day, April 23.
She has an older brother, Lord Frederick Windsor, and grew up in London where she attended the Queen’s Gate School as well as Downe House School in Cold Ash, Berkshire.
Before Ella and Thomas got together, he dated Pippa Middleton, Kate Middleton’s sister. The two broke up amicably, and the couple even attended Pippa’s wedding in May 2017, perhaps Pippa and husband James will attend their wedding as well.
Earlier this year Pippa showed off her post-pregnancy body in a white bikini while vacationing with her husband in the Caribbean.
