“Each morning fix him a healthy breakfast. Be pleasant at all times. For lunch make him a nutritious meal. For dinner prepare an especially nice meal for him.”

He has been irritable and disinterested in any home activities. After he arrives from work, he would go straight to bed and rarely eats his dinner.

DISPLEASED WIFE

He would also often wake up at wee hours and walks around the house. His wife would often get startled, thinking that a burglar may have broken into their home.

Annoyed by her husband’s odd behavior, she prodded him to consult a doctor. The husband would dismiss her, but she’s glad that he finally obliges one day.

The wife waits in the waiting area while her husband is inside the doctor’s office. After his checkup, the doctor calls his wife into his office alone.

THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS

The doctor then explains his husband’s symptoms.

“Your husband is suffering from a very severe stress disorder,” the doctor tells the anxious wife.

“If you don't follow my instructions carefully, your husband will surely die,” he continues. “Each morning fix him a healthy breakfast. Be pleasant at all times. For lunch make him a nutritious meal. For dinner prepare an especially nice meal for him.”

He adds: “Don't burden him with chores. Don't discuss your problems with him; it will only make his stress worse. Do not nag him. If you can do this for the next ten months to a year, I think your husband will regain his health completely.”

On the way home, the husband asks his wife, “What did the doctor say?” To which she replied, “He said you're going to die."
