99-Year-Old Widow Receives Warm Birthday Greeting from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Prince Harry performed a honourable act as he celebrated his favorite Australian fan, blowing the minds of many. Senior citizen, Daphne Dunne experienced a special moment as she received a lovely birthday note from her cherished celebrity.

Dunne received a warm surprise note on her hospital bed, from the Duke of Sussex and his wife wishing her a happy 99th birthday. While being presented the surprise note, Dunne had guessed it was from the duke, showing how much she held him in high esteem.

Daphne’s daughter, Michelle Haywood couldn’t hide her joy as she showed appreciation for the royal couples’ kindness.

"Really I think Harry and Meghan have got mum through this terrible illness she’s had, she’s still very unwell, and I think the card will be the thing that gets her through,”

Haywood said.

According to the show, Prince Harry first met Daphne four years ago while walking through a royal greeting when he visited Australia. Described as Prince Harry’s most devoted Aussie fan, Daphne was spotted in the crowd that cheered the duke as he made his way through. That day, Harry bent down and kissed her on the cheek.

After that event, the duo met two other times, and the 34-year-old duke had gifted her a cute kiss. On all the occasions they met, Daphne was covered in her late husband’s military medals suggesting that she probably always had the medals on.

Since then, the war widow became famous for the cordial treatment she enjoys from Prince Harry. On one of such occasions, Prince Harry was with his wife Meghan, and Dunne was fortunate to be introduced to the Duchess.

As the royal couple made their way through the long line of well-wishers, Prince Harry’s face lit up as he spotted his aged fan who as usual got a warm embrace from him. Meghan joined the duo and got introduced to her husband's favorite devotee.

When asked how she felt, Daphne had nothing but pure appreciation to show towards Duchess, she said:

“She is lovely; she has such beautiful skin. She is beautiful and lovely with it. I mean she hadn’t met me before, and she was kind.”

Meghan, like her husband, leaned in to plant a kiss on the lovely senior citizen while thanking her for her kind words.
