George Strait Rocks ACM Audience with a Stunning Performance for the First Time in Four Years
Legendary country singer George Strait wrapped up the 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night with his latest single. The song was from his first album in four years.
The song that he thrilled the audience with was titled “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar."
At the 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM), the audience was treated to a performance by George Strait who sang "Every Little Honky Tonk Bar." For his performance, the star included the honky-tonk bar mentioned in his song.
The Broken Spoke bar was where Strait got his start in the music industry. The ACM stage was also decorated with Las Vegas lights on the screens behind him.
The country singer co-wrote the song with his son Bubba and Dean Dillon. The song was released as the lead single off his thirteenth studio album, “Honky Tonk Time Machine.”
Even though he wasn’t nominated Strait also performed "God and Country Music," which featured his young grandson, Harvey Strait on March 17. He also sang “Run” with fellow country singer, Miranda Lambert, for ACM’s “Flashback” series.
The legendary musician also had the pleasure of presenting Jason Aldean with the Artist of the Decade Award. Aldean honored Strait by revealing he was the reason the younger singer had a cowboy hat on.
Strait hasn’t taken out a new album for years but he’s been performing in Las Vegas. In 2016, the artist launched his “Strait to Vegas” residency where he’s performed on certain dates throughout the years.
The new dates for his 2019 performances have been announced and that makes 24 shows so far. Strait released his new album by sharing a video for one of the songs.
“Código,” is a track that is an ode to the singer’s favorite type of tequila. The song was released by Strait in December 2018.
