In a recent interview for Vogue, the reality TV star and her husband, rapper Kanye West, opened the doors of their California mansion to the cameras for the first time, and the fans became obsessed with a particular appliance.

38-year-old Kim Kardashian might have answered 73 questions as Vogue cameras peeked into her and 41-year-old Kanye West’s Hidden Hills home, but the only thing that fans want to know remained unanswered.

As impressive as the minimalist state-of-the-art home the celebrity couple shares with their three children –the fourth is on the way- eagle-eyed viewers fixated in one small thing: the main bathroom’s basinless sinks.

The camera stopped by the spacious bathroom with transparent walls surrounded by a bushy garden just for a few seconds, but fans couldn’t help but noticing the unusual design of the sinks, which appear to have no basin.

Baffled by the flat surface in the place where water is supposed to be collected, viewers took to Twitter to demand an explanation about how the avant-garde sinks work and/or to mock the ever-eccentric Kardashian.

“Can someone please explain to me how @KimKardashian’s “kitchen” “sinks” work??” Rosa Heyman asked on April 11.

“I think I see a tiny little drain and like a little pitch to the sink. Those things are nuts,” another user suggested in response to Heyman’s tweet.

“I see a tiny drain hole on each sink closer to the edge. Wonder if there’s a shallow slope that guides the water to the hole...” wrote someone else.

“Hi @KimKardashian. Everyone’s wondering about the master bath’s sink situation. Are there drains on the floor for a waterfall effect?” Beth Delany asked the socialite.

“We have just spent the last 20 minutes wondering why @KimKardashian has a sink without a basin in her house,” admitted another Twitter user. “I can’t stop thinking about Kim Kardashian’s bathroom sink,” a woman added.

While the mysterious sinks stole most of the attention, it is not the only strange feature of the property. The “minimal monastery,” as Kardashian described it, ostensibly has no doors separating the rooms and spaces.

Kardashian cited Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt and West as the main inspirations behind the home’s design. She also admitted being stressed because the room for her upcoming child is not ready yet.

In one part of the interview, done on the run as they moved from one area of the massive home to another, Kardashian told the interviewer she wants to be remembered as a woman of many talents.

She recently announced that she is working on adding “lawyer” to her list of skills, revealing that she is studying to follow the steps of her late father, attorney Robert Kardashian.

Considering the disbelief and mockery she has had to face since she made public that she will be taking her exam to qualify as a lawyer in 2022, she will have a hard time making herself be taken seriously, but she seems to be really determined.

“I've seen some comments from people who are saying it's my privilege or my money that got me here, but that's not the case," Kardashian wrote in the caption of an Instagram post explaining her intentions.

"One person actually said I should 'stay in my lane.' I want people to understand that there is nothing that should limtheour pursuit of your dreams, and the accomplishment of new goals. You can create your own lanes, just as I am."
