Sherri Shepherd was eager to spread the joy as she posted several pictures showcasing her recent road trip to New York City. Her adorable son was featured in many of them.

The proud mother had a lot going on last weekend and she packed it all in where she shared a ton of photos to her Instagram account. The post, which shows just how alike the mother-son duo look, is found below.

The comedian and actress visited an ABC set to film "Pyramid," went to a restaurant, and walked under heavy rain as she and her 13-year-old son Jeffrey Charles enjoyed the road trip.

Host Michael Strahan took pictures with the pair as well as with Charles alone. The last slide of the set featured a sweet video of Strahan and Charles having an enjoyable chat.

Another video showed Charles and Shepherd, 51, walking with blue umbrellas in New York City. Shepherd informed viewers that they would have to cancel their breakfast plans due to the rain.

In the caption, she wrote:

"#nyc #roadtrip complete! It rained most of the day but that didn’t stop our #joy ... taped an episode of @pyramidabc w @michaelstrahan ... Michael let Jeffrey ask him a thousand questions & we hit up my friend @melbasharlem for some #oxtails #braisedshortribs #collardgreens & #redvelvetcake (only Jeffrey ate the cake)... #newyorkcity we love you so much ... thank you for the #memories."

The former "The View" co-host shares Charles with her ex-husband Jeffrey Tarpley, who initially sought full custody of Charles when the two began their divorce process back in 2014.

At the time, Tarpley claimed that Shepherd's schedule caused her to be a neglectful mother who wouldn't be able to care for Charles and his special needs.

Shepherd objected the allegations and further hit back by describing Tarpley as an "absentee dad" who "deserves no part in his son's life." Right now, it looks like she's done a great job of raising him regardless of his special needs.

It's apparent that Shepherd loves her son very much. In an interview with PEOPLE in December 2018, she called him "yummy and special." She also opened up about his unique situation.

She said:

"He’s got developmental delays. I know that God created this little boy, who’s so yummy and special, and I have to accept him just in his little imperfect perfections. He’s perfectly imperfect in every way.”

She added:

“I love him no matter what, and I don’t compare him to other typical children. He is who he is … I [put] him in an improv class. He gets to be silly and nerdy.”

Shepherd revealed that when she asked her son what he wanted to be, he said he wants to make people laugh. She wasn't happy with the answer, she said, but she had high hopes for his success.

In an earlier interview with "The Breakfast Club," Shepherd revealed something that most said she should have kept under wraps. The actress divulged that her son didn't like black girls, and wanted to date white girls.

He said that at his school, the white girls were nicer to him than the black ones who didn't want to talk to him and "sometimes [...] act crazy." Most people were embarrassed for Charles because of his mother's actions.

These days, though, the comedian has a lot to be proud of when it comes to personal achievements. Last month, she shared a picture showing off her new smaller body after years of being plus size.

Looking confident in white and showing off a glittering silver bra underneath, Shepherd announced that she was ready for a ladies night out in her caption. She had lost about 30 pounds in the months before the picture was taken.

Last year, she changed her diet to reflect a healthier lifestyle. She was motivated by her son to make the change so she would be around for him longer. Considering how happy the two looked in New York, we're glad to see that Shepherd is making sure she'll be there for her son in the long-run.
