Multi-awarded actor Morgan Freeman, best known for “Million Dollar Baby,” went to the “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” to talk about his bee sanctuary.

During the interview, Freeman said that he transformed his 124-acre ranch in Mississippi into a colossal sanctuary to save bees. The man pointed out that he brought them from Arkansas and that he had to feed them.

Shocked, Jimmy Fallon asked how he did so, and the actor revealed that he gave them two parts sugar and one part water. Freeman added that he didn’t wear a protective suit to feed them and that he had never been stung, an aspect that also surprised the host.

“We do not realize that they are the foundation, I think, of the growth of the planet, the vegetation.”

HE DOESN’T WEAR BEE SUITS

“I don’t have to put on a bee suit or anything to feed them. There is a beekeeper I know that is Jordanian, he never puts on a suit because you know you have to resonate with them,” said Freeman.

He added, “they haven’t [stung me] yet, because right now I’m not trying to harvest honey or anything. I’m just feeding them … I think they understand, ‘Hey, don’t bother this guy, he’s got sugar water here.'”

HE WANTS TO SAVE THE PLANET

Freeman took 26 beehives to his ranch and even planted trees and flowers that the animals would like, including lavender and magnolia trees. As for the reason why he did so, it’s all about the environment.

Even though Freeman talked about it in 2014, the news recirculated recently, and people in Twitter took their time to praise the Oscar-winning actor.

“Hats off to Morgan Freeman for his honeybee initiative,” wrote a person.

“Morgan Freeman converting his ranch to a wild honeybee sanctuary is the best thing I've heard all week,” shared a second person.

SEXUAL HARASSMENT ALLEGATIONS AGAINST HIM

In 2018, Freeman was involved in some sexual harassment allegations after eight women accused him of that. The man quickly released a statement to Yahoo Entertainment wherein he apologized.

“Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy. I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected — that was never my intent,” he said.

At the moment, Freeman is very busy as he is working as the host of NatGeo’s “The Story of God” and The Story of Us,” and is expected to appear in three projects which release dates have not been shared.
