John Stamos and his wife Caitlin McHugh Stamos recalled the day that their son arrived into the world as a premature baby. The couple was unnerved by the ordeal.

John, 55, his wife, and his one-year-old son did the sweetest photo shoot with People magazine towards the end of April. The couple also got candid about how their son was nearly five weeks too early when they welcomed him into the world.

Caitlin's contractions compelled the pair to go to the doctor early on, but he dismissed them, saying that the baby wasn't ready and suggesting they go home and "have a glass of wine."

According to John, his wife is not a big drinker and hadn't drunk throughout the months leading up to her delivery. So when Caitlin drank just one glass of wine "she was hammered."

Caitlin, 32, remembered the hilarious scenario:

“It was really funny. I get to the hospital and I said, ‘I already had a glass of wine, now it’s a party!’ Then they gave me the epidural and I was laughing all over the place.”

Thankfully, little Billy was born healthy, but he was super fragile as well. The model and actress explained how they dealt with it:

“He wasn’t fully baked, so that was very scary in the beginning. He was very, very small … fragile, little. Every time [he] fell asleep, you’re like, ‘Please wake up.’ [We were] constantly checking to make sure he was still breathing.”

It was John's first child, and there was a reason he waited so long. The "Fuller House" star said:

“I waited a long time for a kid. I just had to meet the right person to do it with and to straighten my life out. I was always meant to be a father, I think.”

His wife called him a natural and exclaimed that he was "pretty good at" changing diapers, something John used to joke that he'd never do before Billy came along.

Soon after they welcomed their son, John divulged the reason for the name. In an Instagram post, he wrote:

“From now on, the best part of me will always be my wife and my son. Welcome Billy Stamos (named after my father), #NotJustanUncleAnymore #Overjoyed.”

Stamos celebrated his son's first birthday earlier this month by wearing matching Elvis Presley outfits and sharing the adorable photo to Instagram. Billy's mom also shared a cute picture of her and her son.
