'Blue Bloods' Sends out 'Invites' to Celebrate Jamie and Eddie's Wedding
“Blue Bloods” sent out official invitations to their wedding finale later this week and fans can hardly contain their excitement.
On Friday, the show’s Twitter account sent out “invitations” to “Eddie” Janko (Vanessa Ray) and Jamie Reagan’s (Will Estes) wedding on May 10. Fans merrily got asked to “save the date” and to “please RSVP below.”
The show’s wedding took place at New York City’s Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral in April and attended by co-workers and friends, along with Eddie’s mother Lena (Christine Ebersole).
"We had over 400 people, amazing flowers, and a beautiful church," Will told TV Insider. "And I wore a morning suit and tails!" And it’s something fans can’t wait to see as one follower commented:
For the big day, Eddie wore a “strapless Marisa Collection champagne lace A-line gown with a train,” which according to her fit so tight that her “ribs were bruised after wearing it all day.”
But it's not going to be all wedding bells as Tom Selleck told TV Insider that “there are some surprises.”
Tom also hinted that some drama could unfold with Eddie’s father returning after he got jailed to walk her down the aisle, so fans are understandably eager to share in the big day:
Meanwhile, the cast is happy to end the season on such a high note. "It's cool that we can give the audience this special moment, displaying Jamie and Eddie's love and the family's love for them," Vanessa Ray added.
During the previous episode, their relationship almost took an unexpected turn when Eddie and fellow officer Rachel Whitten (Lauren Patten) tried to save a choking baby’s life.
By the time they got the baby breathing, the infant’s father had disappeared. Eddie connected with the baby which they had to hand over to child services, and Jamie said that he would understand if she wanted to adopt the baby.
However, Eddie then revealed that she doesn’t want children and is worried about bringing a baby into a family of cops.
Eddie reminded Jamie that two family members had died in the line of duty. "I could see down that rabbit hole too," Jamie said. "But I'm not going in."
When Jamie met Eddie at an animal rescue shelter with news of the baby’s grandmother the following day, he assumed Eddie hinted at adopting a dog. But it soon became evident that she volunteers there once a month.
While Jamie liked the idea of adopting a dog, he added that it would only happen if Eddie were “100 percent on board.” From there on, that is how they both agreed on making decisions in their relationship moving forward.
As the patriarch of the Reagan clan, Tom Selleck had played the role of the New York Police Commissioner, Frank Reagan since 2010. While having starred in other hit series like “Magnum P.I.” and “Three Men and a Baby” the actor is reportedly working on a memoir.
Although it has no title as of yet, it will be published through Dey Street Books, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers.
