It remains unclear exactly when the change became official. What is clear is that the 20-year-old had legally adopted the name she had already been using publicly.

A source told TMZ that Suri and Tom had been estranged since she was seven. Katie had also denied reports in December 2024 that their daughter received a trust fund from the actor.

Suri's decision quietly placed her mother's name at the center of her adult identity. Meanwhile, Kate Hudson kept her biological father's surname, but their conflict became far more public.
