Katie Couric’s Daughter Is All Grown up
Carrie Monahan, Katie Couric’s youngest daughter, is all grown up now and turned to a real beauty just like her popular mother.
Katie has two beautiful daughters, Ellie and Carrie, from her first husband, John Paul Monahan, who passed away in 1998.
"I've had 19 Thanksgivings and Christmases since he died. Many of them have been full of joy and laughter."
As time passes by, a lot of fans noticed that Carrie, who was born in New York City in 1996, bears a strong resemblance to her mom.
The young woman dreams of working as a writer. She's a student at Stanford University and has already shared some of her essays to a few magazines.
Carrie, who joined in an internship program in France, is also an advocate for a good cause. Earlier this year, she created a fundraiser for RAICES, a nonprofit organization that provides free and low-cost legal services to under-served immigrant children, families, and refugees.
"Want to join me in supporting a good cause?" she wrote. "I'm raising money for RAICES, and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support."
She also donated for March For Our Lives, a movement dedicated to student-led activism around ending gun violence and the epidemic of mass shootings in schools today.
Carrie's father, John Paul, died of colon cancer at the age of 42. Her mother, Katie, then became a spokeswoman for colon cancer awareness.
In an article for Time, Katie wrote, "I've had 19 Thanksgivings and Christmases since he died. Many of them have been full of joy and laughter; the days, months and years of living made me forget when sleep provided the only refuge."
The mother-of-two found love again, though she is not afraid to confess that she misses her first husband.
In September 2013, Katie became engaged to financier John Molner after a two-year relationship. The couple tied the knot in June 2014 in a small, private ceremony at her home in The Hamptons.
