Meghan Markle Marks 1st Mother's Day with New Photo of Baby Archie
This year marked Meghan Markle's first Mother's Day, and she made sure to celebrate it with a social media post that paid tribute to the late Princess Diana.
The first photo of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's son is finally on the internet and kicked off the adorable photo of his feet being lovingly held by his mother. In the photo, she made sure to pay tribute to her husband's mother, Princess Diana by showing something she's very fond with.
The photo was taken in the new Frogmore Cottage home in Windsor, and Diana's favorite flower, forget-me-nots, are evidently seen in the background.
"Paying tribute to all mothers today - past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered. We honour and celebrate each and every one of you."
The caption does not end there, as the dutchess made sure to greet mothers from all over the world in time for the worldwide celebration.
“Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe. This is the first Mother’s Day for The Duchess of Sussex. Quote from ‘lands’: my mother was my first country; the first place I ever lived.”
Celebrating Mother's Day
The Duchess of Sussex spent her first mother's day at home with her son, husband, and mom, Doria Ragland. Ragland flew into London from Los Angeles before the Easter holiday to prepare for her son's arrival. Now, she will remain there for a couple more days to help Meghan adjust to motherhood.
According to a source that disclosed the information to People, Doria gets along with everyone, and she's very excited to be able to help Meghan through these days.
"She's super excited. She and Meghan are so close."
Another source adds that it's not just Meghan who gets along with her mom, but Harry, too.
"Harry really gets on well with her too. Any new mom wants her own mom around at this time, so it's great."
Debuting her son to the world
Before Mother's Day, Meghan and Harry released their official photographs to the world, and she gushes about her new role as a mother.
"It's magic. It's pretty amazing. I have the best two guys in the world, so I'm really happy. He has the sweetest temperament. He's really calm."
Now, the Royals are trying to adjust to being a family of three, and everything has been going smoothly for them.
