Vanessa Williams recently took to Instagram to share a family picture with some of her cousins from both sides of her family. The bunch attended Williams’ performance with the National Symphony Orchestra at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C last weekend.
Vanessa Williams has been busy this year. A triple threat on stage, on screen and the recording booth, the 56-year-old is currently working on new music while touring around the country and being scouted as an actress for several other projects.
Last weekend, the “Ugly Betty” star had a special performance at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts alongside the National Symphony Orchestra, and some members of her extended family were there to support her.
Williams shared a pic on Instagram with ten of her cousins taken before she hit the stage, and they all hold a strong resemblance to each other.
“#aboutlastnight Cousins in full effect from both sides! The Carls & The Tinchs came to my Saturday night concert. Love you all so. Thanks, Fam,” she captioned the post.
Fans filled the comment section with praises for the good-looking group, like one user who wrote “Look at all that beauty!!!” and another who added, “Couple looks like more like you, I thought they were your sisters.Beautiful.”
VANESSA ON HER PERFORMANCE
Talkin to the Metro Weekly ahead of the performance, Williams revealed that one of the best feelings for her is performing with a live orchestra.
“It fills me to the nth degree to be able to hear my music, especially my big hits, with a full orchestra because there’s nothing like it,” she said.
And continued:
“You can record with strings and double the strings, and make it sound like a symphony, but when you hear it live and you hear ‘Colors of the Wind’ and you hear ‘Save the Best for Last’ and ‘The Sweetest Days,’ it just makes the lyrics more meaningful, makes the moments more meaningful.”
NEW PROJECTS AND DEALS
The Tony, Grammy, and Emmy nominated star recently signed a contract with Sterling Winters Company (SWC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kathy ireland® Worldwide (kiWW®), for management representation in all areas including theatrical, music, licensing and brand management.
“I am thrilled to join the stellar team of Sterling Winters Company / Kathy ireland® Worldwide," Williams said in a press release. "Their excellence, knowledge, and bravery in every facet of multiple businesses, makes me so excited about my future endeavors and very secure with my diverse career opportunities."
Vanessa recently participated in the ABC pilot "The Happy Accident," although she already revealed the network didn’t pick up the series.
She’s also set to lend her voice to a character in Disney Junior's animated comedy "T.O.T.S” and will be performing concerts in Atlanta, Las Vegas, Thousand Oaks, and Spokane in the next months.
