Halle Berry Gets Real about Having a Baby after 40
Halle Berry reveals that having a baby after 40 made her all the more ready to have them in a candid interview about motherhood.
Halle Berry welcomed her daughter Nahla, 11, and son Maceo, 5 when she was over 40, and she said that while people think this is not a good thing, she believes otherwise.
According to Berry, she was more ready to become a parent after 40 than if she welcomed her children at 20. The now 52-year-old said that she knows herself a whole lot more that makes it easier for her to take care of her kids.
“You know yourself better. You’ve done a lot of things for yourself, selfishly. When you wait later in life, you can really put your kids forward I think in a more meaningful way.”
As for her advice to moms who are considering to start a family later in life?
"Do it. Just do it."
The "X-men" star welcomed Nahla with her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry in 2008 when she was 41-years-old. She then welcomed Maceo in 2013 with ex-husband Oliver Martinez when she was 47.
Since being a big social media user, Halle has been sharing photos of her children on Instagram, something that her fans have appreciated.
This hasn't always been the case, as she's chosen to be a private mom at first. Now, however, she's become more open about sharing photos of her kids, particularly of their faces.
Despite beginning her motherhood journey late, Halle has been having a great time with her children and considers herself a lot more capable of being a mom now that she's done a whole lot in her career.
