Sara Gilbert Reveals the Reason She Left ‘The Talk’ after Almost a Decade of Hosting

Sara Gilbert quits “The Talk” and shares ample reasons for her action which is linked to the newer developments in her career.

After nine years of dazzling fans on “The Talk,” Gilbert decided it was time to move on. The Celebrity isn’t retiring to become a sit-at-home mum but she is going to work on her latest gig as a producer as well as returning to the set of “The Conners” for its second season.

Speaking with Variety’s “My Favorite Episode” podcast, Gilbert opened up on the transition taking place and how it will affect her career as an entertainer. After ABC put an end to “Roseanne,” the broadcast network moved on to a spin-off of the sitcom titled, “The Conners.”

The decision, however, did not come without some hesitations owing to how the original show had to come to an end. Actress, Roseanne Barr had spilled some sensitive statements which sparked the idea of racism amongst fans. The showrunners had quickly rose to the occasion. Roseanne Barr got fired, and the eponymous show got canceled.

Sara explained that the launch of “The Conners” has both the production team and the casts worried as they were all skeptical about reports from fans.

It was, however, a huge relief when reviews came out positive while spurring the showrunners. The production team is now ready to go on to the second season.

Besides “The Conners,” the actress recently announced plans of starting a production company, called “Sara + Tom,” alongside fellow producer, Tom Werner.

Going on to talk about quitting her TV host job on “The Talk,” “The Big Bang Theory” actress explained that with the latest events going on, she has her hands full and has decided to let the daytime show go bearing in mind that her time had garnered enough accomplishments.

Gilbert said:

“Something had to give, and I’ve been lucky enough to do the talk show for nine years. And so that felt like the right move is, ‘OK, I’ve done that. And I’ve fully explored it.’ And now it’s time to do other creative ventures,”

Sara further added that while she had no regrets, she also feels relief, considering the fact that she will no longer have to share her details.

Sara is quitting “The Talk” despite being the progenitor of the show. While active, Gilbert got two nominations from the "Primetime Emmy Awards."

The actress has always been conversant with show business thanks to her family. Sara’s older sister, Melissa Gilbert is also an actress and a major influence in Sara’s acting career.

With her latest accomplishments, Sara Gilbert is soaring higher and hopes to make even better exploits than she did on “The Talk.”
