After nine years of dazzling fans on “The Talk,” Gilbert decided it was time to move on. The Celebrity isn’t retiring to become a sit-at-home mum but she is going to work on her latest gig as a producer as well as returning to the set of “The Conners” for its second season.

Speaking with Variety’s “My Favorite Episode” podcast, Gilbert opened up on the transition taking place and how it will affect her career as an entertainer. After ABC put an end to “Roseanne,” the broadcast network moved on to a spin-off of the sitcom titled, “The Conners.”

The decision, however, did not come without some hesitations owing to how the original show had to come to an end. Actress, Roseanne Barr had spilled some sensitive statements which sparked the idea of racism amongst fans. The showrunners had quickly rose to the occasion. Roseanne Barr got fired, and the eponymous show got canceled.

Sara explained that the launch of “The Conners” has both the production team and the casts worried as they were all skeptical about reports from fans.

Gilbert said:

“Something had to give, and I’ve been lucky enough to do the talk show for nine years. And so that felt like the right move is, ‘OK, I’ve done that. And I’ve fully explored it.’ And now it’s time to do other creative ventures,”

Sara further added that while she had no regrets, she also feels relief, considering the fact that she will no longer have to share her details.
