NBC Anchor Meagan Fitzgerald Announces Engagement to Girlfriend in Honor of Pride Month

In commemoration of pride month, Meagan Fitzgerald, a well-known NBC news anchor, announced her engagement to her “best friend” during a broadcast.

Fitzgerald took to Instagram on June 2 to share pictures of herself and her stunning girlfriend, Kelly Health, but what had fans getting wide-eyed was the large rock on Fitzgerald's finger signifying their engagement.

The first photo is of the two women huddled together for the selfie shot. It is a simple photo, but it captures the immense love between the women as their faces are brightly lit up with a smile. The picture is brightly illuminated by the sun as Kelly leans into the newscaster.

Fitzgerald didn't know the second shot would become famous on the internet as it mainly features her eye-catching ring. The shot zooms in on Fitzgerald’s left hand while she holds unto wine.

“Cheers to a lifetime with the love of my life and best friend. I love you so much! We’re gettin’ married!!!! It’s been a long journey but worth the wait. Thank you for the way you love me. I said YES!!” the 33-year-old beauty captioned the images.

For an anchorwoman, Fitzgerald has a noticeably massive fan following making it no wonder that the photo, which is just a few days old, has already amassed well over a thousand likes! In a bid to show support and cheer on the soon-to-be-married couple, fans took to the comments section to shower them with good wishes.

“Being just who you are is enough. I know this because I’ve been through that journey and I’m excited to share with you some news! I’m engaged!” Fitzgerald said.

Fitzgerald also shared that her stunning girlfriend asked her to marry her while they were at the Tidal Basin. It may seem unbelievable, but the pair are one of Tinder’s success stories.

They fell in love since meeting two years ago via the dating platform. According to Fitzgerald, meeting Kelly “was surreal,” and she knew right from the get-go that “she was the one.”
