Anna Duggar’s Daughter Sings to Late Grandma Mary in Never-Before-Seen Family Video
A week after her grandmother’s demise, Anna Duggar posted a heartbreaking video of her daughter, Meredith, singing to her late great grandmother, Mary Duggar.
On June 9, the Duggar’s announced their family matriarch’s sudden death after slipping and drowning in their swimming pool. Over a week later, Anna Duggar continues to remember her late grandmother through videos shared on Instagram.
SINGING TO GRANDMA
The “Counting On” star posted two videos of her 3-year-old daughter, Meredith, singing to Mary. The first song sung was lullaby called “The Cupcake Song,” while the second one was a classic, “You Are My Sunshine.”
“Dithy has such a special love for Great-Grandma as she always enjoyed time with her and singing for her — Great-Grandma would give undivided attention and was her biggest fan!” shared Duggar on the post.
MARY’S FUNERAL
Among all the special memories they shared, the toddler said it was singing for her great grandmother she was going to miss most. Since Mary’s funeral on Monday, Jill and Amy have posted about the difficult day of honoring and celebrating grandma Duggar.
“Yesterday was a very hard, yet beautiful day. The service was lovely and very honoring to my Grandma and the one she loved more than anyone or anything else, Jesus Christ!” Jill wrote on Instagram.
Jill shared a “beautiful rainbow” that made an appearance during the service which her grandma would call “a sign of God’s faithfulness. Amy shared a similar photo of the rainbow on her social media account as well.
Since her passing, Duggar family members have posted tributes in honor of their late family matriarch.
MARY LEONA LESTER
At a young age of fifteen, Mary converted to Christianity and lived out her vocation since, preaching of God’s love and mercy, especially to her family. Hours before her demise, Mary spent time worshiping her God, before meeting him later that day.
Mary spent a life in love and faith with James Lee Duggar whom she shares two children with, Deanna and James Robert or “Jim Bob.” She has 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, with a few more on their way, sadly, she won’t be able to watch them grow up.
Since her passing, Duggar family members have posted tributes in honor of their late family matriarch. In a Facebook statement, the family described Mary as “a follower of Christ, a wife, a devoted mother, a loving mother-in-law, and a much-loved grandmother.”
