Carrie Underwood Shares Her Favorite July 4th Childhood Memory of Preparing the Fireworks Show
Country music star Carrie Underwood revealed her preferred July 4th childhood memory, which included setting up the fireworks and her very own backyard show.
Underwood, 36, shared why she has such a remarkable fondness for the holiday during a sit down with Universal Music Group.
"So, I feel like that was a little training for what I do now – putting on shows, figuring out how it’s all going to work out.”
“I think my favorite Fourth of July memory would be going to the fireworks stand and picking out which fireworks I wanted to do," Underwood recalled.
"I must have been like 7 or 8, and I came home and made a list of what order I wanted to do them in, because I wanted to put a show on for Mom and Dad. Of course I couldn’t wait until it was dark outside."
"So, I made my Mom and Dad get the lawn chairs and come out to the backyard and watch some not very dramatic fireworks at like 6 o’clock in the evening, but I was so proud of myself, and I was so proud of the show that I put on," she continued. "So, I feel like that was a little training for what I do now – putting on shows, figuring out how it’s all going to work out.”
This year, the "Inside Your Heaven" singer won't be in the United States to commend the enthusiastic occasion. Currently, she's on the U.K. leg of her Cry Pretty Tour 360. She will perform in London on July 4.
However, Underwood isn't griping about investing some energy abroad, particularly after the warm welcome she's been given.
On June 29, she ended her set at the Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England with a powerful performance of her hit song “Before He Cheats," which had the enthusiastic crowd chiming in.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the award-winning singer uncovered her differences in attitude to her two children Isaiah and Jacob.
Underwood said her boys "don't really look a whole lot alike," but she admitted to being somewhat different this time around herself.
“It might be because Isaiah makes him feel so much smaller, but I think I baby Jacob more. I’m like, ‘Oh no he can’t sit up in that thing,’ and it’s stuff that we had Isaiah doing already,” she told PEOPLE.
Underwood added she had a feeling that she needs to treat her 4-month-old baby a little more like she did Isaiah.
Underwood met her husband Mike Fisher, 39, a Canadian hockey star, in 2008 when he went to one of her shows.
On their first date, she promptly sensed that Fisher was not the same to all of the men she dated beforehand. They got married in 2010 in Georgia, surrounded by pink flowers and 5,000 shining precious stones.
