Serena Williams is back on the tennis court as she's starting to prepare for Wimbledon, and what better way to remind people that she is tennis royalty but with a crystal brooch by Nike called the "Broosh," their first crystal swoosh.

Wimbledon 2019 is creeping nearer day by day, and Serena Williams had her first test match against Italian Giulia Gatto-Monticone wearing a white ribbed tennis dress with a swoosh, Nike's iconic logo, covered in Swarovski crystals.

This custom piece symbolizes Williams' return as the queen of tennis and is a collaboration between Nike and Virgil Abloh, two brands that Serena has been patronizing for years. Entitled the "Broosh," a mash-up between brooch and swoosh, had 34 Swarovski crystals to represent Williams' age when she won London Slam back in 2016.

Virgil Abloh, Serena, and Nike previously collaborated for a custom-made piece for Serena that featured a one-shoulder tennis dress with a full tulle skirt, which hoped to show that she can be both strong and beautiful at the same time.

"It really embodies what I always say: that you can be strong and beautiful at the same time."

For this coming Wimbledon, Serena aims to bag her 8th championship and 24th Grand Slam title. Last year, Serena had quite an eventful Wimbledon match, as aside from falling short for a podium finish, she was also surprisingly watched by Drake, someone whom she allegedly dated in the past.

Bouncing Back

Serena and Drake were romantically linked back in 2012 until it was made public in 2015. However, a couple of months after, Serena married Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, and they have even welcomed a baby girl together.

Now that she's perfectly stable with her family, people found it weird that Drake went to the match and said that he shouldn't have gone.

Ultimately, this Wimbledon is Serena's self-proclaimed redemption time, hoping to finally win a championship after three years.
