Writing to Reddit, the tattoed man is asking the internet if he's an a****le for not canceling a long-awaited tattoo appointment for his grandpa’s funeral.

"I’m getting my face tattoo, I’m going to my grandfather’s funeral as is because I love him and want to be there..."

According to him, his tattoo appointment would be just about two days prior to the funeral of his late grandfather, so he can still attend.

"The reason my family wants me to cancel it is because this particular tattoo is on my face," he wrote. "I’m not looking for anyone’s opinions on that."

The young man said that his body is mostly all covered with tattoos now, so for him, it will no longer be an offensive content.

"I tried to talk to my artist, and he says he feels for me but is on a tight schedule and can’t move out appointment," he wrote. "So I’m refusing to move it."

In any case, his family is taking it further. He explained that he was very close to his grandfather and that he really cherished his tattoos.

"But my family is refusing to let me go to his funeral if I don’t cancel this appointment," he wrote.

The young man added, "My grandfather is a veteran, and there will be a lot of other veterans there, who might be put off by me, my grandfather’s only grandson."

He proceeded with that his aunt has even gone to such an extreme as to state that he should cut his long hair. His aunt also told him to cover his tattoos with makeup so he wouldn't stand out too much.

"So I’m putting my foot down," the young man wrote. "I’m getting my face tattoo, I’m going to my grandfather’s funeral as is because I love him and want to be there, and I’ll leave it up to them if they don’t wanna let me in and cause a scene."

One person wrote, "Sounds like your family is uncomfortable with your getting a face tattoo and doesn't want to be embarrassed by you being there with one. Their comfort isn't your problem. Out of respect for your grandfather go and get the tattoo."

"Who cares what other people think if they don’t know how you are personally," added another. "Do whatever makes you happy man, especially if your grandpa liked them. It’s your life, don’t let people who don’t matter control it for you just because you need to care about what they think. They irrelevant, you probably never going to see them again."
