Daily Joke: Mom Who Suspects Her Son's in a Relationship with His Roommate Visits Them for Dinner

It's very rare for a mother to be taken for a fool by her children who she has watched growing up and whose tell-tale ticks she can recognize immediately.

A Mom visits her grown son for dinner at his new apartment that he shares with his fabulous female roommate.

He has made it clear countless times on the phone that they are just sharing the space and nothing more, and he repeats this as he shows her around their clean new place.

She had long been suspicious of a relationship between the two, and this only makes her more curious as she sits with the pair for dinner.

Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact, she starts to wonder again if there was more going on between him and his roommate than met the eye.

The young lady is lovely by all accounts and the man's mother is quite taken with her. Reading his mom's thoughts, the son volunteers quietly when the young lady leaves the room,

“I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you, we are just roommates."

About a week later, his roommate comes to him saying, “Ever since your mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the silver spoon. You don't suppose she took it, do you?"

He said, "Well, I doubt it, but I'll text her, just to be sure."

He sat down and typed:

Hi, Mom.

I'm not saying that you ‘did' take the silver spoon from my house, and I'm not saying that you ‘did not' take the silver spoon...But the fact remains that it has been missing ever since you were here for dinner.

Love you!

Several minutes later, he received a response from his Mother which read:

Good afternoon, dear.

I'm not saying that you ‘do' sleep with your roommate, and I'm not saying that you ‘do not' sleep with her. But the fact remains that if she was sleeping in her OWN bed, she would have found the silver spoon by now, under the pillow…
