Xscape Has One More Album Left, Kandi Burruss' Mama Joyce Says at the 2019 Black Music Honors

Mama Joyce came up with a surprise for Xcape fans, as they received the 2019 Black Music Honors.

Xscape was recently honored with at the 2019 Black Music Honors, and Tiny Harris, LaTocha, Tamika Scott and Kandi Burruss, and in a touching gesture, called their moms up on stage.

And that was when Mama Joyce, Kandi Burruss' mom, grabbed the opportunity to give the fans an astonishing bit of news.

XSCAPE HONORED WITH URBAN MUSIC ICON AWARD

The iconic R&B group Xscape was honored with the Urban Music Icon Award on September 5, 2019, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.

During the acceptance speech, Mama Joyce whom fans of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" will know well, made a statement that left the fans ecstatic.

“They still have one album left. The four of them, they started in my basement and I feel that they still have another album in them,” she said.

MAMA JOYCE PUTS THE PRESSURE ON XSCAPE

Mama Joyce's bombastic announcement put the girls in a tight spot and stunned her own daughter Kandi Burruss, but they eventually admitted they'll be heading back to the studio.

“Obviously she put us on the spot but, I mean...I guess we gon’ grant her wish. I didn’t know what to say but at the same time, she put it out there, my group members are here … we gon’ make it happen … we gon’ figure it out,” Burruss stuttered.

MAMA JOYCE EXPLAINS HER "FEELING"

Mama Joyce would later explain why she believes "the girls" should do one more album before calling it quits.

“I feel like [Kandi] just need to get with them and they need to finish that one last album. They all got the voice. They voice is just as good if not better today than it was back 25 years ago,” she said.

THE FANS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THE NEW ALBUM FOR YEARS

This isn't the first time a new album has been discussed, but Burruss has always shied away from the subject.

After all, Xscape recorded 3 albums and had all three went platinum, a tough act to follow and she feared a fourth album might be a potential flop.

“As soon as the girls and I started talking initially I had told them I didn’t really want to do new music, and the main reason is because I feel like I don’t want to mess with our legacy,” said Burruss in 2018.

Now it looks like the four girls have no choice but to follow Mama Joyce's orders and march into the studio, and the fans are delighted.
