Athlete Simone Biles has made history once again by becoming the most decorated gymnast in the history of world championships.

This Sunday, the 22-year-old managed to win two gold medals on balance beam and floor exercise, upping her medal count at worlds to 25.

With these two wins, Biles was able to surpass Vitaly Scherbo, the previous holder of the record with 23 titles. However, Scherbo, who competed for the Soviet Union and Belarus, participated in more events than Biles.

A MOMENT THAT SHE WILL NEVER FORGET

Biles was over the moon when she finished her routine, flashing a huge smile at her supporters in the stands and blowing them kisses, knowing how well she had done.

One of the proudest people in the arena was Laurent Landi, the athlete's coach, who immediately hugged Biles after she stepped down from the podium.

ON TOP OF THE WORLD

It was a magical weekend for Biles, who walks out of the competition with a total of 19 gold medals, being the first time that she has won five medals at the world championships.

The day before, the American gymnast matched Scherbo's record by winning the gold medal for the vault, scoring 15.066, and celebrating with her coach.

SHE JUST KEEPS SURPRISING EVERYONE

Last month, Biles stunned the world by performing a never-seen-before double-double dismount on the balance beam at the U.S. Gymnastics Championship, which took place in Kansas City, Missouri.

The athlete, who has had a rough time on the beam at the Rio Olympics last year, proved that it is not in her nature to give up and pulled the move after having failed a triple-double earlier that day.

At the time, Biles said:

"I’m really happy with the beam dismount and how it’s come along because if you had asked me after U.S. Classic if I was going to complete it, I would’ve said no."

According to her, one should never settle and rest on their glory, and that in order to remain on top, one must always push themselves to become even better.
