African-American actress, Meagan Good made the headlines once again, with rumours of her controversial skin routines sparking an internet debate.
Thirty-eight-year-old African-American actress, Meagan Good, known for her skin sensation, stepped out in style for a movie premiere, but photos from the event which hit the media have caused a frenzy, with internet users throwing daggers at her for being a colourist.

Replying the tweet, majority implied that the actress was yet another star who fell victim to colourism. A tweet read,
“She got that Sammy Sosa ashy, "I dun lightened my skin, look. Colorism has claimed another victim." Now I’m looking sideways at her husband.”
“I hate it that ＃BlackWomen can’t love the skin they’re in! ＃BlackIsBeautiful, all shades and tone.”
Rather than shade the actress, some came to her defense, blaming her light-skinned appearance on the lighting.
One user wrote:
“Relax, the lighting was harsh and washed out her makeup.”
“Genuinely hope this is a LIGHTING issue and not a LIGHTENING issue. Somehow, she looks less attractive with that skin colour.”
With skin bleaching allegations arising at intervals against the stunning beauty, the actress has been made to share her skin regimen and beauty secrets with curious parties on interview sets.
In a May interview, the 38-year-old revealed her effective but simple skin routine to Essence. When asked about the regimen behind her radiant skin, she explained that her routine included a periodic Trader Joe’s spa face wash with Tree Tea oil.
She continued by saying that she regularly undergo deep tissue massages, Rodan plus Fields Redefine morning and evening creams, Olay cleansing cloths, tinted moisturizers and bleached outcropped hair to crown her gorgeousness.
Remarkably, none of these skin products were intended for skin lightening, which leaves a lot unanswered about the supposed colour change.
This is not the first time the sensational wife of Devon Franklin would be faced with allegations of skin-bleaching.
In 2014, the actress battled similar milestones, which forced her to address the situation, attesting that her skin colour changes with the weather, the region, and her level of exposition to sunlight.
“This is my complexion, the one I was born with… I tend to get lighter and darker depending upon how much sun I do or don’t get.”
The star also explained that as she got older, she has tried to preserve her skin by limiting how long she stayed exposed to the sun, hence the lighter, less-tanned tone.
