Fans of the striking and irreverent Slick Wood were shocked when she revealed that she has been going through chemotherapy.

The 23-year-old model announced that she was in treatment and later disclosed that she is fighting stage 3 melanoma.

In reference to the side effects of the chemo, which usually include loss of hair, Slick captioned a photo of herself dancing with friends and boyfriend Micky Munday:

“How I feel about chemotherapy, shout out to everyone that gotta go through it #atleastimalreadybald.”

Slick, born Simone Thompson, shared another post with a photo of her son Saphir sporting a disgusted expression on his tiny face, and captioned it:

“Stop treating me like a victim.”

The feisty model posted one more message in which she referred to her condition accompanied by a striking portrait of herself in vivid green and bedecked with jewelry. She captioned it:

"Modern day Gia without the drugs #justcrazy “where does everyone go when they have to go” I thought I told y’all I’m not no victim"

In September 2018, model Slick Woods was walking the runway for Rihanna's underwear brand, Savage x Fenty, at New York Fashion Week.

She was also 9 months pregnant, and unbeknownst to the audience who watched her strut her stuff in a strappy teddy, thigh-highs, and pasties., she was already in labor.

14 hours later, Slick gave birth to her first child, a son she named Saphir. Slick shares Saphir with ex-boyfriend model Adonis Bosso.
