Savannah Guthrie Attends 'Today' Holiday Party Amid Recovery after Eye Surgery for Torn Retina
Savannah Guthrie pushed through her recovery process to be able to attend a Christmas party with the rest of the "Today Show" cast. She shared pics online.
On Thursday, Savannah Guthrie, 47, revealed that not only was she recovering well from her eye surgery, but she could go out and party with her favorite co-workers.
The tv-personality took to Instagram to post a few pictures of the fun night she had with colleagues. She wore glasses as she posed for photos. Her post is found below.
What did she wear?
In the first shot, Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, as well as another lady, stood on either side of Guthrie. All of them wore toothy grins and had on dark colors for the occasion.
Guthrie sported a lovely dress that had blue and red trimmings and a low neck at the top. The skirt featured a pattern of x's. She had a few chains around her neck and wore her hair loose.

Details of the party
The tv host shared a few more shots during the event, which was held at Catch Steak in Chelsea, according to Page Six. The party reportedly started at 11:30 am to accommodate late-night workers.
In attendance were Al Roker, Craig Melvin, Sheinelle Jones, Dylan Dreyer, Willie Geist, and Carson Daily. Drinks served included spicy margaritas. The party reportedly ended at 2: 30 pm.
How is she recovering?
Guthrie's presence was a welcome surprise following the eye injury that was inflicted by her son playing with a toy train in November. On December 11, she underwent surgery for a torn retina.
People reports that Guthrie has to rest with her head facedown to aid the recovery process. "Your body starts hurting in different places, lying down like that," she told the outlet.
Little Vale helps mother
As for when she'll be back on television, Guthrie called in earlier this week to update fans. She said she still doesn't have her vision back, but things are on track so far.
Last week, Guthrie gave her followers an inside look at how her family was dealing with things just after the surgery. Her five-year-old daughter, Vale was a big help.
When will she return?
The little girl wrote a note, which Guthrie called her "out of office" message, and stuck it on her door. The memo advised everyone to stay out of Guthrie's room.
Guthrie's unofficial return to the "Today Show" will be sometime after the holidays. Until then, we hope she continues getting out when she can and do wish her a safe recovery.
