Serena Williams and her daughter, Olympia Ohanian were superheroes for a day at the beach. The ever-fashionable mother-and-daughter duo wore matching swimsuit cover-ups with capes. ‘

CAPED BEACH CRUSADERS

Always bonding at the beach, the tennis superstar and her two-year-old didn’t disappoint in their latest outdoor snap. Standing on a platform on the shore with their backs to the camera, they revealed matching white capes coordinated with their white swimsuits.

Serena proved to be a hero herself when she managed to remain competitive in tennis while taking care of Olympia hands on.

Their location was undisclosed when Serena posted the beautiful photo which also featured the vast sea in front of them and the clear skies. She simply wrote, “Superheroes only” in her caption and tagged Olympia’s Instagram account.

WHY SHE'S A SUPERHERO IN OUR HEARTS

We have countless reasons to believe that Serena is truly a superhero not just as an athlete but more importantly, as a mother. She braved a life-threatening condition when she gave birth to Olympia and struggled with post-partum woes.

“Mostly, I felt like I was not a good mom,” the celebrated athlete admitted in an open letter to her fans on her Instagram in August 2018. “You are true heroes,” she said of mothers who managed to balance work and motherhood.

Serena proved to be a hero herself when she managed to remain competitive in tennis while taking care of Olympia hands on.

“If it means warming up and stretching while holding my baby that’s what #thismama will do,” she once said sharing a photo of her training while carrying a tired and sad Olympia in one arm.

Selena took over a year off from tennis to focus on raising her daughter after she gave birth but bounced back on the court like the true Olympian she was. She won her first match at the French Open straight out of maternity leave and rocking a catsuit at that.

It is quite an inspiration to many that a woman like Serena who gave birth to her first child at 35 could be both a tennis superstar and a supermom. We say she’s not only a superhero for a day but a lifetime.
