Greg Rikaart from Y&R Shares Health Update after Being Mildly Symptomatic Amid Coronavirus Outbreak
On Tuesday, March 17, 2020, Greg Rikaart took to social media to share that he was home sick with a fever. He confessed that he was worried he might have caught the coronavirus.
Rikaart, who stars as Kevin Fisher on “The Young and the Restless,” later took to Instagram to give an update to his fans. He posted a video where he still looked quite sickly and explained what was happening to him.
The actor shared with his fans that he had a doctor come to his house and wasn’t diagnosed with the flu. He also revealed that the doctor didn’t think he had the coronavirus but couldn’t test him because kits had run out.

Rikaart might not have the virus
Rikaart hasn’t had shortness of breath, which is a good indicator that he doesn’t have the virus. He shared that he hoped his fever of 100 broke soon so he could carry on being a father to his child.
The actor shares one child with his spouse Robert Sudduth. The star wrapped up his video by encouraging people to stay indoors and stay safe.
His earlier symptoms
In the caption on the post, the actor thanked his fans for their support. An earlier announcement that he posted on Twitter and Instagram was where he shared with his fans that he was feeling sickly.
In the post, he revealed that he was experiencing mild symptoms since Friday or Saturday. His fever was 100.5, he had a tight chest, and a wet cough with green phlegm.
Being diagnosed with seasonal allergies
The actor revealed that last Wednesday before he had the fever, his doctor had diagnosed him with seasonal allergies. Friday he was prescribed a Z-Pak but his symptoms weren’t getting any better even though he had been taking antibiotics for three days.
Struggling to see a doctor
Rikaart confessed that he’d tried to see his doctor again and hoped he will be diagnosed with the flu. He explained that would also be tested for the coronavirus.
Not meeting the CDC threshold
Sadly, three different doctor’s offices refused to see him, including his own general practitioner. The reason he wasn’t seen was that he hadn’t met “the CDC threshold.”
Soap opera suspends production
The threshold involved one traveling internationally in the past weeks, having a fever of 102.3, and coughing. On the same day that Rikaart shared his illness, “The Young and Restless” revealed that they were suspending production due to the pandemic.
