Idris Elba Fans Ask Actor to Give Regular Updates on His Condition after Coronavirus Diagnosis
Idris Elba caught his fans by surprise when he made a video announcement of him being infected with the Coronavirus, and fans requested the actor to "keep updating" them on his condition.
On Monday, Idris Elba tweeted a video notifying his 2.9 million followers over at Twitter about his medical condition as the British actor was recently diagnosed with Coronavirus.
With the global pandemic reaching far and wide, many famous names have since been infected with the highly contagious COVID-19, and Elba is the latest to make it to that list.
ELBA'S ANNOUNCEMENT
In the video announcement, the "Thor" actor informed that he had tested positive for the rapidly spreading illness, but consoled his fans that he was still doing alright.
The 47-year-old actor stated that he has not started showing symptoms, but he got tested anyway because he realized that he was recently exposed to someone who also tested positive for the virus.

The "Beasts of No Nation" star also explained that he has been in isolation in his own residence since he received the diagnosis to prevent risking other people with the same fate.
FANS SHOW SUPPORT
Fans were really supportive of Elba and did not hold back to show it and share their love. One fan showed appreciation to the icon and claimed that his announcement was important, before informing that the actor should keep the fans in the loop.
Another fan wished Elba a speedy recovery and took the opportunity to reinstate the fact that people can be carriers of the virus even though they might be asymptomatic. He also urged everyone else to exercise social distancing to limit the harm of this virus.
Other fans, including celebrities like Wendy Williams, Halle Berry, and Ellen DeGeneres, also sent their best wishes his way to hopefully support him beat the illness.

The actor himself warned his fans to be cautious and take the safety measures seriously at the risk of them getting infected. The influential star also informed that a lot of lives had been affected by the virus, and the crisis was real.
The news of the Golden Globe award-winning actor being infected came after Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Kristofer Hivju of "Game of Thrones," and former Bond girl Olga Kurylenko contracted the same viral infection.
The Norwegian actor Hivju informed his fans on Instagram recently that he and his family are in self-isolation for as long as it takes, claiming that his family was still asymptomatic while he has "mild symptoms of a cold."
