John Amos' Daughter Shannon Shows Her Arm Tattoos While Holding Sunflowers in a Photo
She is a Certified Mindfulness Instructor, 200 Hour RYT Yoga Teacher, Soul Purpose Sage, World Traveler & Owner of Sumanah Wellness Travel Company.
Shannon Amos is the daughter of actor John Amos, well known for his role in TV series and movies. She doesn't follow the same way as her father, but she has her own way. Three years ago, her mother died and she began a new journey.
This journey took her to India, and there she began a new path to honor her mom. In some pictures shared by her, she holds a bunch of sunflowers and shows a sleeve tattooed on her arm: a large elephant head and a pot-bellied human body. It is an image of Ganesha, one of the most distinctive Hindu deities. Shannon said about family:
Family is so important — make sure you take the time to be present and to enjoy each moment with the people you love.”

Amos continued this role in the 70s hit TV show trying to portray a positive image of an African American family, struggling against the odds in the ghetto of Chicago.
But was his breakout role on the TV mini-series, “Roots”, that garnered him critical acclaim, playing the role of Kunta Kente/Toby. “Roots” received 37 Emmy Award nominations and won nine. Throughout his career, Amos has been cast in countless TV shows and blockbuster movies including “Coming To America” and “Die Hard 2.”
A LONG CAREER
John Amos was celebrating his 80th birthday last year, and one of his wishes has already come true. He was reunited with TV producer, Norman Lear, and former “Good Times” co-stars Bern Nadette Stanis, Jimmie Walker, and Ja’net Dubois on ABC’s Live In Front of a Studio Audience.
He said that he was very fortunate to be alive to do another episode of “Good Times” although he played a different character than the one he played on the original show. Today, Amos continues to act and is also a children’s book author.
