Shortly before the birthday celebration, the Chrisleys were served some court papers based on tax evasion and other financial crimes. The family has continued to maintain their innocence. According to a statement:

"The allegations contained in the indictment are based on complete falsehood. The Chrisleys are innocent of all charges."

Another source that has stated that the family is guiltless is their estranged son, Kyle. Though he called out his father in the past, People reported that he confessed via an online platform that he was wrong to have trolled his dad.

Kyle, who's sober following his drug addiction problem, asked for forgiveness. The 27-year-old mentioned that his sister and mother, Todd's ex, were the culprits who reported his dad to the authorities.
