The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have paid a touching tribute to the nurses and doctors that have lost their lives to the COVID-19 pandemic

Prince William and Kate Middleton have paid a touching tribute to medics that have lost their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The couple took to the Kensington Palace Twitter to share a sentimental message in honor of International Nurses Day.

The Royals posted an homage to nurses using the hashtag #RememberHealthHeroes, commending their hard work and dedication to those in care.

They shared words of encouragement to all of those in the medical field on their Twitter account which boasts over 1 million followers, saying,

“On Monday 11th May, the eve of International Nurses day, we remember all those who have lost their lives to #COVID-19 while in service.”

The Prince and Kate Middleton will be remembering the 150 NHS and healthcare workers that have lost their lives to the virus

International Nurses Day takes place on the anniversary of Florence Nightingales’ birth to celebrate the work done by health care staff.

This year marks the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth and has seen the UK come together to celebrate medical workers.

Kate Middleton has always been involved in the medical sector. She regularly spends time in hospitals with various patients, offering comfort and support.

She recently gave two parents a wonderful surprise when she sent them a video call to congratulate them on the birth of their new son. Kate said,

“This is definitely a first. Well, firstly, huge congratulations. He's so sweet congratulations."

As she herself quarantines, the Duchess and Prince William are teaching their children how to be well mannered and respectful.

That involves ensuring that the two junior Royals take on different chores, including making their own beds and not asking their “housekeeper” to help them out.

Kate spends her time with her children who have different hobbies, keeping them busy and occupied while they are stuck inside.

Charlotte, she revealed, does get into her fair share of trouble with Prince Louis, sharing the time the pair collaborated to find a secret stash of sweets.
