Girl Is Heartbroken after Parents Used Her College Money to Buy Her Stepsister a Car

A young lady is confused over the next course action she is to take after her mother and stepfather used her college money to buy her stepsister a car.

Sometimes in life, people do not turn out to be the way one expects them to be, and this discovery can be painful, especially when they are considered family.

A young lady took to "Reddit" to ask its users for their opinion on an issue she was faced with. She expressed that she was heartbroken over the action to take when she discovered her mother had taken money from her account and bought her stepsister a car.

The "Reddit" user mentioned that the money she had saved in the bank was over eighty-six thousand dollars. The money was from her inheritance from her paternal grandmother's and her maternal grandfather's estates.

She also stated that she had earned about six thousand dollars extra from her job and business and had put all the money in the account to help her from going into college debt. On confronting her mother, the user explained:

"I was furious and called my mom and asked why she took my college money. She told me I am not smart as my step sister and probably won't need it as I am more dumber than her."

The young lady then went on to add that although she did not make great grades like her stepsister, her grades consisted mostly of A's and B's and the C's were from her advanced classes.

She also added that despite her tears and feelings of hopelessness, her mother and stepfather did not feel remorseful. She encouraged her to be happy for her stepsister as the car was better than any college money she was saving up for.

She had made a call to her father, who demanded that her mother return the money or else he would take legal action.

The user expressed that she planned to use the money in question to pay for other college costs asides from tuition, and with what her mother had done, she was not going to be able to fulfill that goal.

Taking to the comments thread beneath the post, various "Reddit" users were furious at what her mother had done and advised her to take legal action. Some reassured her that she had every justifiable right to be angry. Someone also said:

"My recommendation is to cut ties with your family and see if any other relatives can help you out. This sucks, and I wish I could help more. Apply for as many scholarships as possible."

While some stated that the story was unbelievable and impossible, others mentioned that a mother could be that irresponsible and worse.

The lady thanked people for their advice and said she was going to place a call to her father and see if things could be sorted out.
