In his absence, his wife, Amanda Kloots, took to Instagram to share a sweet post that came with images from their time at the hospital last June.
After Nick woke up from his month-long medically induced coma in May, People Magazine stated that Amanda noted that it was "kind of a waiting game at the moment."
Through the caption, Amanda reflected on how her "two Cordero men" were making a habit of being in the hospital when she wrote, "Last June Elvis is in the NICU. This June Nick is in the ICU. These guys are really trying to take me down."
The post has already garnered over 40,000 likes and nearly a thousand comments of well-wishes from her followers, since it was uploaded on June 10.
Just before the birthday post, People Magazine reported that the fitness instructor told her Instagram followers that her husband "had a little bit of a rocky night last night" and "spiked a fever" that led to a medical intervention that required the use of medication.
The mother of one added that Nick's doctors would most likely go through "another round of stem cells" treatment to help repair the damage his lungs suffered due to COVID-19.
