Hoda Kotb is celebrating her niece Ella who turns ten years by sharing a series of beautiful family photos.
Star of "Today" Hoda Kotb is celebrating a special occasion as her niece Ella turns 10. The host shared a series of photos on Instagram.
The proud aunt posted the photos which showed herself with her two nieces, as well as pictures of Ella smiling adorably into the camera.
Recently, Hoda held a panel discussion with a group of children to discuss the current protests and to find out how they felt about what was happening.
The discussion included 10-year-old Rosalie, Logan, Josh, Aiden, and Marley, who spoke about their experiences with racism. Marley said,
"The moment that we're living is kind of frustrating because it feels as though its an attack on people that look like me, which is really scary and disappointing."
The host continued, asking the children what their parents had told them, with Aiden responding that he had been taught to be respectful and to know his rights.
The children also spoke about their experiences of racism in schools as an incident at a summer camp, with Rosalie saying that they had been taught to seek help from adults.
Because of restrictions, Kotb has been separated from her co-host.
During the Coronavirus pandemic, Hoda has been co-hosting NBC's morning show with Savannah Guthrie and they have been talking about COVID-19 as well as the Black Lives Matter movement.
Because of restrictions, Kotb has been separated from her co-host and has recognized the importance of keeping a light on the topics. She said,
"Think about all the police reform everyone's talking about - the Republicans are talking about it, the Democrats are talking about it......People are listening and people are open to change."
To try and keep everyone positivity up, last year, Hoda released the New York Times bestselling book, "I Really Needed This Today." The book is filled with inspirational quotes as well as personal stories.
This month, the author shared that she has come up with another collection to bring inspiration and hope to her fans. It will be released on October 13.
Her new book, "This Just Speaks To Me" explores themes such as motherhood, friendship as well as delving into our lives today.
Kotb has also shared that she has been reading more and talking to her fiance Joel Schiffman so that they can both become better people.
