Several social media users and fans of Ellen DeGeneres were worried about the TV personality and comedian after they saw the hashtag, #RIPEllen on Twitter’s trends on Monday.

While many people joked about Ellen’s hoax death with fake obituary posts that came with some of her famous doppelgängers, others expressed their joy at her alleged demise.
Ellen was also called out for mistreating her staff and crew members by not informing them about the status of their paychecks and work schedules during the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic.
Many others, like one fan who tweeted a meme of somebody trying to make sense of the math before her, were just confused.
Another fan showed her confusion when she shared an image of a woman squinting her eyes, with the caption reading, “me looking at the #RipEllen hashtags.” Luckily, it soon became clear that the entertainer was neither dead nor in immediate danger.
According to the New York Post, the viral reactions were alleged replies to the speculation that “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” might get canceled following a drop in ratings.
Even though producers confirmed to the outlet that the show wasn’t going anywhere, Twitter users kept dropping their wisecracks with the hashtag #RIPEllen.
Amid the death rumors, Insider recalled that Ellen has been facing some challenges in the last few months. Back in April, the TV personality was dragged on Twitter after she likened self-isolating in her California home to being behind bars.
Ellen was also called out for mistreating her staff and crew members by not informing them about the status of their paychecks and work schedules during the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic.
Just before those rumors began, Ellen was accused of being “mean” to several people such as famous makeup YouTuber, NikkieTutorials — who allegedly spoke up about her less-than-pleasant experience with the TV host.
Cosmopolitan noted that despite all the drama surrounding her, the 62-year-old hasn’t shared a response. As for her show, New York Post recapped that the host has kept up with the friendly on-screen demeanor she has become known for.
Fans are looking forward to seeing how “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” host would eventually react to the backlash she has been facing.
