While the ceremony honored the longtime senator, videos shared by C-SPAN and later reposted on social media quickly shifted attention to Trump's demeanor.

The video showed Trump arriving with his security detail before taking a seat beside Vance. He stood with other mourners during portions of the service before returning to the pews.

One sequence appeared to show Trump taking several deep breaths while standing beside Vance. Another captured the two briefly turning toward each other, seemingly exchanging a few quiet words.

Later, Trump remained seated with his head lowered for several moments before lifting it again. That sequence fueled speculation on social media, with some viewers suggesting he had briefly fallen asleep, while others said he simply appeared to be resting or looking downward.

On Facebook, one netizen asked, "Is he breathing funny?" after noticing Trump's breathing.

Another user wrote, "It's the gasping for air for me. 😀," while a third remarked, "He's taking some pretty big breaths just for walking over 🤔," both pointing to the same moment in the video.

Instagram users focused on the later portion of the ceremony.

One commenter wrote, "He almost fell out of the pew 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂," interpreting a brief movement as Trump shifting after appearing to nod off.

Another user posted, "Must be painful to stay awake. 🙄🤣🤣🤣," suggesting he looked tired. A separate commenter wrote, "Falling asleep isn't respectful," arguing that appearing drowsy during a funeral would be inappropriate.

Others defended the president's appearance.

One person responded, "The man works 20 hours a day! Get a grip!" suggesting any signs of fatigue reflected a demanding schedule. Another added, "This is what hard work does to you! 🇺🇸❤️🙌," attributing his appearance to long work hours rather than disrespect.

As the clips continue to be shared, they serve as another example of how even brief moments at high-profile public events can spark competing interpretations, leaving viewers to draw their own conclusions from the same footage.
