Russell Wilson Expresses Concern over the Upcoming NFL Training Camp and Wife Ciara's Pregnancy Amid COVID-19
The NFL quarterback is concerned about starting training soon. Although he and other football players say they want to play, they ask for the NFL to be clear on health measurements.
31-year-old Seattle Seahawks quarterback, Russell Wilson, recently posted a message on Twitter, describing his concerns on going back to training camp for the upcoming 2020 NFL season while coronavirus outbreak is still on the map.

His major concern has to do with his wife, 33-year-old singer Ciara, who is pregnant with their second child. The athlete explained in the tweet, that though he wants to play, he would like the NFL to be clear on safety plans to ensure his family keeps healthy.
He wrote: “I am concerned. My wife is pregnant. @NFL Training camp is about to start. And there’s still No Clear Plan on Player Health & Family Safety. We want to play football but we also want to protect our loved ones. #WeWantToPlay”
PLAYERS’ DEMANDS
Though it was previously announced that the NFL season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, the league is trying to get back on track with a limited number of games, even after some 70 players tested positive for COVID-19.
While it was recently revealed that training camp would start at the end of July, and Wilson spoke up about his thoughts, other professional football players took to their social media to share their concerns as well.
Figures like Patrick Mahomes, J.J. Watts, Rodney McLeod, Byron Jones, Drew Brees, and Richard Sherman, among several others, have mentioned that the NFL has failed to followed safety recommendations from experts, and so far the league has not given the players any plan to ensure their health and their family’s.
RUSSELL’S FAMILY
After announcing in January that his wife Ciara was expecting a child, and revealing in April that it will be a boy, the Seahawks quarterback has many reasons to worry about this upcoming NFL season.
The baby on the way is the second after their 3-year-old daughter Sienna Princess; however, their oldest son is 6-year-old Future Zahir, whom Ciara shares with her ex-partner, rapper Future.
The couple, who has been dating since 2015, got married in July 2016. Russell once confessed that he knew he would end up with Ciara even before they met each other. Throughout the years they have shown to be a role model as a couple and as a beautiful family.
