Couple Married for 46 Years Beats COVID-19 and Cancer Together — Inside Their Heartwarming Story

Texas couple, Janice and Robert Beecham both survived cancer and COVID-19 in a heartwarming story of love and hope.

Robert and Janice Beecham have achieved the impossible by beating two COVID-19 diagnoses, two surgeries, and completing chemo treatment together.

According to CNN, Robert had been feeling symptoms of the virus for about a week after which he called his son on March 25, requesting to be taken to the hospital.

Similarly in another story, [it was] shared that, after a 4-week long battle with the life-threatening virus, Bob Borns, aged 84, came home to his 83-year old wife Sandra.

As it turned out, Janice, who was still recuperating from her second battle with breast cancer and had recently found out that she had ovarian cancer, also tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Janice recovered shortly after her quarantine although she still has to undergo treatment for her cancer diagnosis. Robert was also discharged some weeks later.

Despite all these challenges, the couple expressed joy and gratitude as they celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on April 15.

In addition to that, Fox TV Chicago observed that Robert's doctor, Satyam Nayak had been very instrumental to his recovery, as his frequent chats with his patient gave Robert the motivation to fight the virus. While also noting that his wife's frequent phone calls had been another source of strength for him, Robert said:

"We believe our faith and the care we received at Parkland [Parkland Hospital, Dallas] were the keys to our positive recovery."

Doctor Nayak recalled Robert's phone call during his anniversary celebration and how much it had impacted his relationship with his wife, disclosing that it was a moment he was never going to forget.

Janice has expressed her hopes that their story would be an inspiration for many who are still battling with the virus, helping them in fighting it.

Meanwhile, the message of hope, triumph, and the power of love continues to ring loud as another couple of over 40 years, 85-year old Ging Gilham and his wife also beat COVID-19 together, Fox 23 News reports.
