The value of clear communication was highlighted in a hilarious situation that unfolded as a mailman pitched up for his last day of work after decades of service.

Jack took a moment to reflect as he got into the mail truck for the last time. He had been a mailman in the same neighbourhood for 35 years, and feelings of gratitude an a tinge of sadness lined his otherwise excitement over the next chapter of his life.

When Jack got the first house on his route, Mrs. Pollard and her three children gave him a beautiful new bright shirt, since he wore the same brown shirt every workday of his life.

At the second house, Jack received a box of the finest cigars he could smoke while enjoying his retirement, which tied in nicely with the gift he got from the Lopez family down the street at his third stop for the day - the fishing lures he'd been eyeing for a while.

However, when Jack got the fourth house, Mrs. Wolfe had taken her show of appreciation to the next level. She opened the door dressed in sexy lingerie, took his hand, and led him to the bedroom where they made the sweetest love.

Afterwards, they went to the kitchen, where she prepared a magnificent breakfast for Jack. As she slid over a freshly brewed cup of coffee, Jack noticed a dollar next to it on the table. Curious, Jack asked, "This is the most amazing retirement present, but what is the dollar for?"

Mrs. Wolfe smiled sweetly and replied, "Well, when I asked my husband what we could do for you since it's your last day, he said, 'Screw him, give him a dollar.' I thought the breakfast was a nice extra."

Even though this was a joke based on fiction, the gifts another mailman from Georgia received after he really retired after 35 years, was a dream come to life.

While he got a special send-off from his neighbours, Delta Airlines gave him an even bigger surprise in the form of an all-expenses trip to Hawaii. Dreams do come true.
