Man Walks Out of His House after His Wife Said She Would Sacrifice Him for Their Daughter

What would you do if you had to choose between saving your spouse or your child? For one husband, that hypothetical question led to some tension in his marriage.

Imagining hypothetical scenarios will often come up in any relationship and for one family, a simple question led to a fight between the husband and wife.

Reddit's "AITA" group allows anyone to ask a moral question to find out whether or not they are in the wrong, and one user got more than he bargained for when he posed a problem.

The story, narrated by the husband, starts with him listening to his wife and daughter talking about potential alien invasions and apocalyptic situations.

When the daughter asks if the mother would protect her if they were in danger, the mom responds that she loves her child more than anything in the world. The wife then moves towards her husband, and as the concerned man recalled:

"[She] goes on to say that her father - aka - me - and [her] would use each other as shields against any danger that comes... Meaning she'd gladly sacrifice me."

This seemed to infuriate the man who decided to leave the house to "cool down," telling his wife and 11-year-old daughter to start lunch without him as he goes to his sister's house.

His wife was shocked and asked him how he could expect her to choose a spouse over a child, which, he says, left him feeling like she had disregarded their marriage vows.

He decided to ignore all of her calls and messages.

After the man reached his sister's house, he relayed the story to her and her partner who sided with him and invited him to stay for dinner.

The entire time, his wife was trying to contact him. However, the man decided to ignore all of her calls and messages writing:

"The fact that she would hypothetically and so casually throw me to the wolves was making me question if I loved her more than she loved me and if so, why I bothered to give her my loyalty."

The man added that he had made many sacrifices for his wife, mainly as he had "options," revealing that women in their twenties had hit on him.

Unsurprisingly, he got severely judged, with most people agreeing that he was entirely in the wrong, causing many to call him a jealous child.

One commenter called him delusional while the most liked comment asked the author of the post to seek therapy for his stunted emotional growth.
