A teenage girl sought help from the Reddit community after catching her seven-year-old cousin stealing her things.

The 18-year-old noticed that one of her lipsticks was no longer in its place. Thinking she just misplaced it in her house, the girl did not pay much attention to the missing item.

A while later, she also noticed her earrings went missing around the same time her little cousin visited her house to play.

The teen then realized that her seven-year-old cousin takes her things every visit and never returns them back in place.

When her little cousin’s family came over one day, the teen once again noticed a pricey lip gloss missing. She then went to their living room and kindly asked if she could see her cousin’s bag.

The little girl froze and refused to show the content, which left the teen no choice but to grab the purse and see for herself.

Surprisingly, she was right and found her lip gloss inside the bag. The seven-year-old began crying and claimed she was given the item.

Several comments unanimously said that the teen was right and that stealing should be taught to be wrong at a very young age.

The little cousin’s mom then came and called the 18-year-old a “spoiled [expletive]” because she made “a poor child cry who doesn’t know right and wrong.”

The aunt added, “even if she did steal that cheap thing, you didn’t have to humiliate her in front of everybody.”

To her surprise, the teen’s parents agreed, and her mom allowed the little cousin to keep what she stole, calling their own daughter “petty that I’m upset by a child.”

Several comments unanimously said that the teen was right and that stealing should be taught to be wrong at a very young age.

In fact, one noted that seven years old is already an old age to know that being a thief is terrible and the only reason the little girl cried is because she was caught.

The story can be a learning point for Reddit users to discipline and teach their children right from wrong, especially stealing at a young age.
